Moe Yoshida and Luca Veggetti create an exhibition about an imaginary theatrical form yet to be performed.

Masks reveal the animals hidden in our bodies as distant ancestors, while drawings conjure the theatrical situations that could contain them. Together they invite visitors to a performance that celebrates the dawn of life, a stage for the origins of animals and humans.

Moe Yoshida:
Moved to Italy in 1998 and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna in 2004. Her work spans visual art, performance, theater and video. The most recent exhibitions include: the solo show Frog Dog (GALLERY TAGA2, Tokyo), 2021, the group exhibition Italia Zokugo (Italian Cultural Institute of Tokyo), 2021, Senza Sapere Dove –Poetiche del Fuori (Villa Davia, Sasso Marconi), 2023. Participations in Veggetti’s productions include: Pelléas et Mélisande (Swedish Cottage Marionette Theater, New York ), 2017, Tanto quanto dura il soffio – per Bruno Munari (Setagaya Art Museum, Tokyo), 2018, HANJO (NYU Skirball Center, New York), 2022. Collaborative works include: The inferno of the gaze. From the human and animal world of Maurice Maeterlinck (MAMbo – Museum of Modern Art of Bologna), 2019.

Luca Veggetti:
He has been active since 1990 as a choreographer and stage director. His work has been produced and presented to great acclaim by some of the world’s leading companies, theaters and museums.
Recent works include: Left-Right-Left (Yokohama Noh Theater, Yokohama – Japan Society, New York), 2017, Watermill by Jerome Robbins (Brooklyn Music Academy, New York), 2018, Infinito Nero by Salvatore Sciarrino (EX Chiesa di San Mattia /Bologna), 2021, a new staging of HANJO by Toshio Hosokawa (NYU Skirball Center, New York), 2022. Works for museums include: Scenario (MART – Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto), 2016, Tanto quanto dura il soffio – per Bruno Munari, 2018, Anatomy of the Dream-Shojo-Midare, 2021 (both at the Setagaya Art Museum, Tokyo).

美術家の吉田萠と振付家、演出家であるルカ・ヴェジェッティがつくりだす「上演されることのない架空の舞台」の展覧会。私たちの身体に潜む遠い祖先である動物をマスクで現し、そのマスクに対応する舞台状況のドローイングとともに、動物と人間の祖先をめぐる舞台、生命の夜明けを祝うパフォーマンスへと来廊者を誘います。

吉田萠：
1998年渡伊、2004年ボローニャ美術学院絵画科卒業。現代美術と劇空間を表現活動の場として制作を行っている。近年の展覧会に、2021年個展「蛙犬」（GARELLY TAGA 2/東京）、グループ展「イタリア俗語」（イタリア文化会館/東京）、2023年「Senza Sapere Dove -Poetiche del Fuori」（Villa Davia/Sasso Marconi）。ヴェジェッティ作品への参加として、2017年「ペレアスとメリザンド」（Swedish Cottage Marionette Theater /New York）、2018年「風が吹く限りずっと‐ブルーノ・ムナーリのために」（世田谷美術館/東京）、2022年「班女」（NYU Skirball Center /New York）、ヴェジェッティとのコラボ作品として2019年「視線の地獄 ‐ モーリス・メーテルリンクの人間と動物の世界より」（MAMbo‐ボローニャ近代美術館/Bologna）など。

ルカ・ヴェジェッティ：
1990年より振付家、演出家として活動。Works & Processグッゲンハイム、マーサ・グラハムダンスカンパニー、シテ・ドゥ・ラ・ミュジック等で制作、上演され高い評価を得る。
近年の仕事に、2017年「左右左」(横浜能楽堂/横浜、ジャパン・ソサエティー/New York）、2018年「Watermill」（BAM ‐ブルックリン音楽アカデミー/New York）、2021年「Infinito Nero」（Ex Chiesa di San Mattia /Bologna）、2022年「班女」（新演出、NYU Skirball Center /New York）、美術館のための作品に、2016年「Scenario」(トレント・ロヴェレート近現代美術館/Trento)、2018年「風が吹く限りずっと‐ブルーノ・ムナーリのために」（世田谷美術館/東京）、2021年「夢の解剖‐猩々乱」（同）など。
