Toshiya Motai Exhibition / 母袋俊也「空の絵〈Himmel Bild〉のさらに上方へ-Further up the “Painting of the sky”-」

Toshiya Motai keeps thinking about the “positioning of paintings” together with the “format and spirituality” of paintings. He says that thinking about paintings that appear in the Real World and the Spiritual World Without Substance is deeply related to the role and duty of paintings. This exhibition exhibits «Himmel Bild» and «ta・KK・ei 2024» in ways that strongly emphasize the three layers of the gallery. During the exhibition period, we will have two discussions with Toshiya Motai, deeply analyzing the future course of his work.

絵画の「フォーマートと精神性」とともに、「絵画の位置」についても考え続ける母袋俊也。〈現実の世界〉と〈実体をもたない精神だけの世界〉の僅かに重なる場所に現れる絵画について考えることは、絵画の役割や使命とも深く関わると話します。本展では、〈Himmel Bild〉と〈ta・KK・ei 2024〉を３層のギャラリー空間を強く意識させるように展示。また会期中2回の対談で母袋俊也のこれまでとこれからの仕事について深く考察します。
