Toshiya Motai thinks of paintings as existing where the real world and a separate world of ideas overlap ever so slightly, with the mission of forming a picture of the representations of these ideas.

In this exhibition, “Qf cube” portrays images formed in this imaginary space that appear to be on top of one another. This work asks us to consider the nature of what a painting is. By all means, have a look.
