An image photographed as it grabbed one’s attention on a stroll in the past – a trace left behind by oneself. In this exhibition, Taro Morimoto creates images by juxtaposing memories and photos from the past with recent events and what is currently happening within himself. These images are connected to the contrasts, contradictions, transience, and inner reflection found in Françoise Sagan’s short story “L’étang de solitude,” and they express the state of the artist’s self-consciousness in the present.

過去の散策、気にとまり撮影したイメージ、自身が残した痕跡。今回森本太郎は、過去の記憶や画像と、近年の出来事や自己の内部で起こっていることを感応させながらイメージをつくりあげています。それらはフランソワーズ・サガンの短編『L’étang de solitude (孤独の池)』に見出される、対比、矛盾、うつろい、内省にもつながるイメージで、今現在の作家の意識のありようが表れています。
