Shinichiro Koromo’s exhibition will be held based on the concept of creating an exhibition with curators who take on new expressions on a daily basis. The exhibition is curated by Naotoshi Noda, who currently works at Setagaya Art Museum and has planned and organized exhibitions focusing on artists working in areas where art and design overlap.

Shinichiro Koromo has focused on the shapes, colors, and internal time of actual ancient tombs, mountains, people, clay figures, and still lifes. He produces paintings and sculptures combining multiple perspectives and different senses of scale generated through actually seeing and touching the above. Koromo’s artworks are produced taking the characteristic atmosphere in Gunma accumulated in himself as physical senses. They are depicted as sceneries with new relations as the positioned motif colors, shapes, and blank sections respond.

NODA Naotoshi：Born in 1971. Curator at Setagaya Art Museum. He has planned and organized exhibitions focusing on artists working in areas where art and design overlap. His major exhibitions include “Osamu Ishiyama: 12 Architectural Visions” (2008), “Hashimoto Heihachi and Kitasono Katue: Unusual Pair of Brothers, a Sculptor and a Poet” (2010), “The World of Kenji Ekuan and GK Design Group Soaring High in the Sky” (2013), “Bruno Munari: The Man Who Made the Useless Machines” (2018), and “The Work of Shiro KURAMATA: A Microcosmos of Memory” (2023).

学芸に携わり、日々新しい表現と向き合うキュレーターとともに展覧会をつくるコンセプトのもと、第4回目は衣真一郎「古墳、山」を開催致します。本展は現在世田谷美術館に勤務し、美術とデザインが重なり合う領域で活動をしている作家に注目し展覧会を企画・実施してきた野田尚稔氏がキュレーション。衣真一郎氏は、身体感覚として蓄積された群馬の特徴的な空間を原風景としながら、対象とするモチーフの色、形、内包する時間、そして余白の呼応によって新たな関係を呼び起こす風景を絵画と立体制作を通して生み出しています。

野田尚稔：1971年生まれ。世田谷美術館学芸員。美術とデザインが重なり合う領域で活動をしている作家に注目し、展覧会を企画・実施してきた。主な展覧会に、「石山修武と12の物語」（2008年）、「橋本平八と北園克衛」（2010年）、「榮久庵憲司とGKの世界」（2013年）、「ブルーノ・ムナーリ」（2018年）、「倉俣史朗のデザイン」（2023年）など。
