Daily activities were temporarily suspended during these past three years, known as the “COVID-19 pandemic.” During this time, Izuru Kasahara took the time to revisit in his mind the journey that he took in his 30s, practicing “観光(SIGHTSEEING)”*, which had inspired him when he was a teenager. He continued creating while having more experiences to re-confront his own views on life and death. This exhibition features his initiatives from 2020 to the present, focusing on keywords, such as “entry and exit,” “twins,” etc., considered as “metaphors for binary oppositions like yin-yang and antinomy.”

コロナ渦と言われたこの3年間、それまでの日常活動が一度ストップしてしまう状況の中で、笠原出は10代で影響を受けた『観光』*を実践した30代の旅を脳内で再び巡る時間を持ちながら、また自身の死生観に改めて直面する体験を重ねながら制作を続けてきた。本展では「陰陽や矛盾など二項対立の比喩になる」と考える「出入口」「双子」などをキーワードに2020年以降現在までの取り組みを展覧する。
