Haruyuki Shirai has been examining the possibilities of photography through unique approaches that create special techniques and situations: a series of works in which real tribes or fictional tribes based on fables or photographic history appear in a forest in the suburbs of Tokyo and a series that records urban landscapes using originally-created devices. Haruyuki Shirai reconceptualizes the context of photographic memory and explores the reproduction of photographs through reconstruction.

白井晴幸(しらい・はるゆき)は、実在した部族や寓話・写真史などをモデルにした、架空の部族を東京郊外の森に出現させるシリーズや、自作した装置を用いて都市風景を記録したシリーズなど、特殊な技法やシチュエーションを作り出す独自のアプローチによって、写真の可能性を考察してきました。写真が持つ記憶の文脈を捉え直し、再構築によって写真の新たな再現を探求しています。
