MIWA Kouki October 1 – October 26, 2015
In October, we will be holding sculptor Kouki Miwa’s solo exhibition. In addition to 6-7 wood sculptures of various sizes inspired by flora, we present a series of small-sized works with tree branches as motifs.
Recently, Miwa focused on the very process of sculpting and sought to give form to this process. He says the unfamiliar shape that comes to life in the leaves and the blending of space between the plants used as motifs is both an act following the plants’ growth process, and a naturally occurring joint work of the Law of nature and his own creative process. We would be pleased to welcome you at the gallery for Miwa’s solo exhibition, about which the artist adds, “I am naturally coming back to the joy of abundance in form.”
