Moe Yoshida Veggetti Exhibition /

6 July – 31 July, 2017
about

Since traveling to Italy in 1998, Moe Yoshida has based her activities mostly out of Bologna and New York. Her main themes are memory and identity; their construction; and their visualization. In recent years she has tackled these themes with a “storytelling” approach. So far, in her performances, drawings, and other works, she has come to express “storytelling incarnate” by using anatomy and animals closely related to humans as subject matter. Working with “storytelling incarnate” and the sense of time inherent within it as a theme, the pieces in this exhibit are inspired by the acorn worm, a sea creature which shares a distant ancestor with humanity and lives in the sediment of shallow seas, where it eats sand, drinks ocean water, and filters both through its body. The exhibit will include 3D, relief, and 2D works. This will be Yoshida’s first exhibit in Japan, so be sure to see it.
