The sculptures of Eisaku Ando have a presence that capture energy being gathered, movement being created, shape taking form, and then energy being released again, as wood is carved through the blows of a hatchet. By all means, please come and see the present-defining sculptures by the artist who always continued sculpting through the 3.11 Tohoku earthquake and evacuation, life and production in a new land, and reception of the 28th Hirakushi Denchu Award in 2017.
